Tree Pruning Tips There are two kinds of winter gardening. The
first method usually starts in January as the gardening catalogs
begin to arrive in the mail. This type of gardening is as easy
as sitting in your favorite chair, browsing the catalogs, and
either dreaming about what you're going to do this spring, or
actually drawing designs for the gardens you intend to work on.

The second type of winter gardening is to actually get out in
the yard and do a little work. Of course if it's bitter cold,
you'd be better off waiting for a good day. Winter is a good
time to do some pruning if the temperatures are around 30
degrees or so. I don't recommend pruning if it's considerably
below freezing because the wood is brittle and will shatter when
you make a cut.

One of the advantages of pruning during the winter is that you
can see much better what needs to be cut out and what should
stay. At least that's true with deciduous plants. The other
advantage is that the plants are dormant, and won't mind you
doing a little work on them.

Ornamental trees should pruned to remove competing branches.
Weeping Cherries, Flowering Dogwoods, Flowering Crabapples etc.
have a tendency to send branches in many different directions.
It is your job to decide how you want the plant to look, and
then start pruning to achieve that look.

But first stick your head inside the tree and see what you can
eliminate from there. This is like looking under the hood, and
when you do you'll see a lot of small branches that have been
starved of sunlight, that certainly don't add anything to the
plant. They are just there, and should be cut out.

Any branch that is growing toward the center of the tree where
it will get little sunlight should be cut out. Where there are
two branches that are crossing, one of them should be
eliminated. Once you get the inside of the plant cleaned up, you
can start shaping the outside.

Shaping the outside is actually quite easy. Just picture how
you want the plant to look, and picture imaginary lines of the
finished outline of the plant. Cut off anything that is outside
of these imaginary lines. It is also important to cut the tips
of branches that have not yet reached these imaginary lines in
order to force the plant to fill out.

For the most part plants have two kinds of growth: Terminal
branches and lateral branches. Each branch has one terminal bud
at the very end, and many lateral branches along the sides. The
terminal buds grow in an outward direction away from the plant.
Left uncut they just keep growing in the same direction, and the
plant grows tall and very thin. That's why the trees in the
woods are so thin and not very attractive.

When you cut a branch on a plant, the plant sets new buds just
below where you cut. When you remove the terminal bud the plant
will set multiple buds; this is how you make a plant nice and
full. Don't be afraid to trim your plants, they will be much
nicer because of it. The more you trim them, the fuller they
become.

Lots of people have a real problem with this. They just can't
bring themselves to prune. Especially when it comes to plants
like Japanese Red Maples. It kills them to even think about
pruning a plant like this. Just do it! You'll have a beautiful
plant because of it.

Look at the plant objectively. If you see a branch that looks
like it's growing too far in the wrong direction, cut it. If you
make a mistake it will grow back. Not pruning is the only
mistake you can make. I hope this helps and doesn't get you in
trouble with your significant other. Many a family feud has
started over pruning.

Rope Chain Saws for Safe and Easy Pruning

A rope chain saw is one of those old fashioned yard tools you probably have never seen, but trust me - it can make pruning a high up limb a lot easier and safer. A rope chain is basically a "chainsaw blade" - like you would see on a gas powered chain saw, but with 10 to 30 foot ropes with a grab handle on each end. The trick is to toss the one end up and over the limb, thus bringing down the other side of the rope.  Now all you need to do is position yourself safely off to the side of the tree, making sure the limb will not hit you. Pull back and forth on the ropes and in a few minutes the limb will we falling. Sometimes, a simple tool like the rope chain saw is all you need to get the job done.

10 Household Gifts for Mom That Won’t Cost You a Dime!

10 Household Gifts for Mom That Won't Cost You a Dime!

We've selected these 10 household gift ideas for mom with the premise, "it's the thought that counts". These gifts won't cost you anything, but a little of your time. Mom will get some jobs done around the house, and have a chance to enjoy some much needed quality time with her family.

All of these can be modified depending on whether mom lives in a house or apartment, and are to be given in the form of a gift certificate. Hang on to this list, there are enough ideas for 10 years of Mother's Day gifts.

1. Yard Work Certificate: Spring has sprung and mom probably hasn't gotten around to cleaning up the yard. Spend the day raking leaves, fertilizing and mowing the lawn, pruning trees, tidying up garbage, and pressure wash the sidewalk and deck. Next haul out the lawn furniture, clean it up and you and mom sit back and enjoy a tall, cool drink.

2. Spring Cleaning Certificate: It's time to give the inside of the house a good spring cleaning. This means turning over the mattresses, cleaning curtains, light fixtures, and removing clutter. Dust the walls and ceilings, and spot clean door knobs, switch plates air vents, pictures or anything else that stands out.

3. Closet Certificate: It's time to help mom clean out her closets. Have a bag for garbage and another for items slated for a garage sale or donation. Remove and store away anything that screams "winter", and bring out the warm weather items and accessories. If she's anything like my mom, you'll find stuff from decades ago and the two of you will spend more time reminiscing than cleaning.

4. Garden Certificate: Clean out mom's gardens, weed and rototill if necessary. Empty out any containers or hanging planters that may still be full from last season. Next, the two of you drive to the local nursery to pick out plants, take them home and plant them. If mom isn't big on gardens, offer to hang some hanging planters or fill some containers.

5. Handy Man Certificate: Now is the time to get after those little fix it jobs that have been building up all winter. Ease mom's troubled mind by repairing the leaky faucet, squeaky door, cleaning the furnace filter, or even hanging pictures. Be prepared, what may look like a couple jobs, may turn into a long list. Just keep thinking about how happy mom will be when you're done/

6. Gutter Maintenance Certificate: Get rid of those streaming waterfalls that occur every time it rains and clean out mom's gutters and downspouts. Once cleared, rinse to flush out any remaining debris.

7. Window Washing Certificate: Get a squeegee, a sponge and a bucket of hot water with vinegar and give mom's windows, sills and screens a good cleaning, inside and out.

8. Appliance Pick-Me-Up Certificate: Breath some life into those old appliances by doing some basic maintenance and cleaning. Defrost fridge and freezer, check appliances for wear and tear, and clean the oven. Pull out the fridge and vacuum behind and in the front grille. Run vinegar through the dishwasher and coffee maker and rinse.

9. Painting Certificate: If mom has a room or two she wants painted, now is her chance. Even if there are no large jobs, you can always freshen up the paint on the doors and trim, touch up any scratches and paint the front door.

10. Deck Certificate: This could mean a complete pressure washing and cleaning of the deck and lawn furniture, or a re-staining job. Either way, mom will love sitting out on her nice, clean deck when the work is all done.

Visit the beautiful Parc Floral de Haute Bretagne with its 21 themed gardens

Visit the beautiful Parc Floral de Haute Bretagne with its 21 themed gardens

Near to the beautiful medieval town of Fougeres is a 25 hectare park which has been transformed into a series of 21 themed gardens. There is a wonderful range of garden styles in the park and lots of inspiration. This is a wonderful garden to visit in Brittany.

Near the entrance is a long rectangular pond whose edges have been densely packed in a style evocative of the Arabian Nights after which it has been named. The long pond has a series of fountains adding to the beauty of the garden.

Continue into an area which was once a potager but whose box-lined squares have now been planted with an eye to colour rather than vegetables - a very attractive transformation. Sage and golden oregano have been used en-masse to give this garden a wonderful golden glow. When I get home I intend to promote these from my herb garden to my borders to give some welcome summer colour when there is often a lull between the more colourful periods of spring and autumn.

The Japanese garden has to be one of the most successful in the park and the glorious mass of Acers, cloud-pruned trees, hostas, rhododendrons and azaleas is stunning - especially worth a visit in the spring to see the rhododendrons and azaleas in flower.

Being a lover of blue flowers the blue garden was one of my favourites. Set on the edge of the lake the blue of the water set off the blue flowers perfectly. Plants here included agapanthus, perovskia, hydrangeas, buddleias and eucalyptus.

The garden even caters for children with a rope bridge set above the lushly planted ‘poets garden’, three labyrinths and a small garden filled with carnivorous plants.

The park is set in the grounds of the Chateau de la Foltiere at Le Chatellier, 10 km North West of Fougeres in the Ille et Vilaine department of Brittany. The garden has been classified as one of the ‘Jardin Remarquable’ of France.

Vineyard Investment Opportunities

Vineyard Investment Opportunities

A vineyard is supposed to be an agricultural investment. When we think of vineyards, we are looking at plantations with lots of fruits. Basically the common idea of a vineyard is a farm with lots of fruits. But many people have come to see vineyard as a place for leisure. These people no longer see the vineyard as only for agricultural investment. They see it as something that can offer leisure to the owner. This group of people have caused vineyard to soar in value. They have made it now look as an attractive investment. There may have been cases when investors had bought simple vineyards, made small innovations and sold them off to others of huge sums. This aspect of recreational real estate therefore holds much promise for many people.

Many people would just like to walk down the vineyard and derive pleasure from tending to the trees. They would want to inspect the fruits and see how well they blossom. They take pleasure in seeing their trees grow and become bearers of large fruits for sale or consumption. They take pleasure in resting under shades in the farm or just relax under a tree, musing on the fact that the fruits they see are going to produce quality and tasty wine for families.

Many still want to own vineyards for domestic reasons. They want to be able to obtain fruits from those farms to fee the family. They want to rely on the farm for their fruit intake needs. Many also acquire the vineyard to protect their land from erosion.

You can therefore buy a vineyard and the sell it off for many profits. You can buy it juts like any other agricultural land. You will need an agricultural expert to e able to evaluate the land, the crops and the locality to determine its suitability and eventual profit after resale. Alternatively, you can do the assessment on your own. You would only have to look out for certain things so that you can make a good purchase.

The type of land that will suit the vineyard must be loamy. It must be well drained and yet be able to retain some water for the growth of the plants. You should also get land that slopes gently for better drainage. The locality is also of prime importance. Vineyard will do well in warm weather which means the mid west states and the south will be good localities for you to find them. Typically you want to get a place with good irrigation systems so that watering will not be a problem. You will also want to get some area that is close to water bodies.

The vineyard you buy must have aesthetic qualities. It must be neatly planted in rows and have well maintained trees looking green. Again, it should be easily accessible by vehicles.

Whether for producing fruits for personal consumption or resale, you need to put in sound farming practices to ensure the continued growth and appeal of the vineyard. In the first place, make sure that the land is properly drained. Creating conditions for flooding will cause gullies and eventually washing away of the top soil. You should prevent sogginess as far as possible. You should also make sure that it is properly aerated. Good airflow will ensure that the crops grow healthily. You should be spraying the crops occasionally so that pests do not feed on the vineyard. For many times a year, you should prune the trees. Pruning will make the grapes ripe well and at the same time make the trees get better foliage or leaves for healthy growth.

Vineyards face one particular danger as they take roots. You should not water the newly planted trees too much. If you do so, you may expose the roots and then the trees will not get enough or firm grounding. Water lightly till you see the seeding stand firm.

Explanation of the Seventh Stage Part 4

Explanation of the Seventh Stage Part 4

Meeting the Buddha is like finding a pure gem, but being unable to receive the taste of the good Dhamma which gives rise to profit and gain is like intending to keep the gem for use in the next life. This is the type of demerit which is due to the conventions accepted by people of the world.

As for householders, they have no qualms about digging the soil, cutting vegetation, pruning trees or picking "Eraka Leaves". They have no feelings of guilt or fear of demerit of these things, and because they are not precepts for the householder, they have no demerit.

Thus, one who believes these things to be demeritorious, gains demerit by doing them. The reason for this is one's knowledge of what constitutes wrong action in the conventions accepted by people of the world. Therefore one ought not to be attached to the rules of behaviour which always encumber people of the world. One does not then feel blame and one remains happy and contented without expunging these faults [This is for the householder].

One should avoid continually bringing to mind and thinking about those had things which one has done in the past, because all of us are likely to do evil due to, ignorance, to a greater or lesser extent.

One should avoid thinking of the past or future, in order to free the Citta from objects which are associated with good or evil. This is the way for one who wants to go towards Nibbana; for he must give up and finish with Sensual-Becoming, Form-Becoming, and Formless-Becoming, All these becomings are within the five aggregates, so that one who lets go of the aggregates, finishes with all becoming, For one who still cannot let go of the aggregates, the process of becoming in accordance with his kamma, keeps him within the aggregates. One should therefore avoid thinking of the evil which one has done.

All things are preceded by mind.2 If the mind of one who practises is always controlled, he does not become entangled with things, nor does he tend to grasp or cling to anything, and he is satisfied with renunciation. Such a person gets rid of the four Corruptions (Asava).

The purpose of one who practises Dhamma is to finish with Becoming-due-to-Kamma so that he does not have further existence, continuing beyond this life. If one has got rid of demerit, one must then get rid of merit, for the Citta must be freed from both of them.

One who practises Dhamma is like a blacksmith who, if he has a stock of iron, can make use of it in various ways. If the iron is of a low grade, he can make a knife or an axe. If it is of medium grade, he can make a razor or the blade for a carpenter's plane. If the iron is of a high grade, he can make a metal file or a hacksaw blade. If the blacksmith beats the iron until he has eliminated all the impurities, then having done so, he will have no iron left.
The iron is analogous to the conditions in the various realms which are the conventions of animals, men, the deities, of Indra or Brahma; all of which are potential states of becoming and birth.

One who practises Dhamma strenuously, gets rid of birth and becoming, which is the same as attaining Nibbana. This is analogous to the blacksmith who gets rid of all the impurities and has no iron left.

When one has finished with becoming and birth, one has left the conventions of the world (Sammuti) ; this is called "Freedom" (Vimutti). The conventions of the world conceal freedom. The Worlds (Loka) conceal Dhamma. The Created-Aggregates (Sankhata-Khandha) conceal the Uncreated-Aggregates (Asankhata-Khandha). The Created Spheres-of-Sensation (Ayatana) conceal the Uncreated Spheres-of-Sensation. The Created-Elements (Dhatu) conceal the Untreated Elements. The created Dhamma conceals the uncreated Dhamma. The formations conceal the non-formations.

If one who practises Dhamma desires to see Dhamma, then he should unravel the Worlds, leave them and finish with them. If he wants to see the non-formations, then he should unravel the formations, leave them and finish with them; and so on.

Identifying and Treating for Sudden Oak Death

Identifying and Treating for Sudden Oak Death

Identifying and Treating for Sudden Oak Death

Sudden Oak Death received its name because of the apparent rapid decline and death of oak trees. In reality the pathogen is present in trees long before the trees decline. Oaks in the red oak family are susceptible to SOD (Sudden Oak Death). This includes live oaks and black oaks and additionally tan oaks are affected. White oaks such as the oregon white oak or valley oak are not susceptible to SOD. Shreve Oaks, big leaf maples and california bays are also affected by SOD. Bay trees are believed to be the primary host specie. Bleeding and cankers on the trunks of oaks may indicate the presence of the SOD pathogen Phytopthera ramorum. Bleeding may also be caused by the presence of oak bark beetles, western sycamore borer or oak ambrosia beetles. Holes in the bark of trees with frass present is caused by beetle or borer infestation. Frass is sawdust type material and can be dark or light in color depending on the type of insect present. Black rounded growths known as Hypoxylon may indicate the presence of SOD but can also be present on dead limbs or trunk tissue without the presence of SOD. Sampling can be performed by Certified Arborist Ron Wallace who has State Training for SOD sampling. Samples are submitted to the State of California Department of Food and Agriculture. Treatment for Sudden Oak Death The California Department of Pesticide Regulation has issued a Special Local Needs Label for phosphonate products for treatment of SOD. Ron Wallace of TreePro is a Licensed Qualified Applicator licensed to treat oaks for SOD. Treatment for SOD involves spraying the lower eight to ten feet of tree trunks with Agri-Fos Systemic Insecticide with Pentra-Bark (Bark Penetrating Surfactant). It is important to treat trees within six months of displaying the bleeding symptoms. The phosophonate fungicides are not considered a cure but have been effective at reducing the disease in treated trees and prolonging the life of affected trees. Another important management technique for SOD is to monitor and prune california bay trees growing close to oaks trees in the landscape. Check the tips of leaves for brown or black discoloration. This discoloration may be an indication of the prescence of SOD on the bay tree. Pruning back or removing bays growing near oaks will reduce the likelihood of the SOD pathogen spreading to adjacent oak trees. Contact TreePro for an evaluation and management plan for the oaks in your home landscape. Our Certified Arborists are trained to identify and treat your valuable trees. What is Assisted Community Living Like?

What is Assisted Community Living Like?

The operative word in assisted community living is the word assisted. Generally residents receive assistance with their medications preventing perhaps taking them twice or more, and assistance with the daily demands such as bathing or even dressing themselves. By and large they also receive community meals, so that they no longer need to cook for themselves, and are relieved of the necessary clean up afterward. Eating as a community is often very important, for it allows the resident to communicate with others and form socialization patterns that permit their minds to stay sharp and clear.

Assisted community living also means that they no longer need to look after a home, which in many instances was exceedingly demanding. Assisted community living provides amazing gardens to walk through without having to prune trees or find a way to retard pesky bugs either.

In many instances, assisted community living means that the resident need not be separated from the beloved pets previously owned. There are assisted community living establishments that will allow a resident to bring a pet if they so desire. If not, there are often community pets kept around so that the residents can commune with those pets, without having to care for them.

If the person is physically handicapped and in a wheelchair, they will find that all assisted community living quarters are properly designed to accommodate the wheelchair, an important facet of community living. This means that residents can move about freely and that arrangements have been made for bathing that do not necessitate standing in a slippery shower, for example, or having to rise out of a floor height bathtub.

One of the fears of living alone is of course the frightening thought that if something happened, there would not be any assistance forthcoming. With assisted community living, there generally is an emergency 24-hour response system provided. This alone brings peace of mind to many individuals.

Possibly most important of all is the fact that assisted community living enables the residents to be with those in their age group automatically. This means that common interests are going to be maintained, and social activities are created to keep the mind active and functioning properly.  Depending on the size of the community, this also means that outings will be provided and actually arranged for the entire community. This is exceedingly important, as often such outings make the difference between the resident's happiness and languishing in an unhappy lifestyle.

If you are interested in accessing additional information about assisted living facilities in California or across the country, check out www.800Seniors.com. After discussing your needs or the needs of your loved one, the individuals at 800Seniors will provide you with a full range of options and information to ease the decision making process.

It is best known for its gorgeous fall color, fast growth rates, leafhopper tolerance, and its ability to adapt to a wide range of climate and soil conditions from zone 3 to zone 6. This tree is so versatile it can grow in most areas of the United States and Canada. You definitely want it in your landscape.

Autumn Blaze Maple is in the Family Aceraceae. It is one of many Ace rubrum * A saccharainum hybrids developed by Poplar Farms. Considered a hybrid maple developed by crossing the silver maple (Acer saccharinum) with the red maple (Acer rubrum). Both of these parent trees had unreliable characteristics as a shade tree, but the breeders took the best qualities of both parents to make an outstanding fast growing tree which has a well-balanced branching habit, has beautiful fall color, is disease resistant to leafhopper damage, and grows well in tough areas such as clay, wet, or even dry problem areas.

Another great quality of this tree is its superior growth habit. Used as a specimen tree, or in clusters or stands, this maple will grow 50 to 60 feet tall and be about 30 to 40 feet wide. It has an oval growth habit with ascending branches and is nearly seedless. The leaves look like a silver maple with a rich, medium green with pretty scarlet, orange and red fall color. It also has excellent winter color because the rapid growth produces longer branching in one season than most maples. This adds interest and color to the winter landscape and the new growth limbs are wonderful in winter flower arrangements.

Maintenance

Water your Autumn Blaze deeply and infrequently during prolonged dry periods. Having a good layer of mulch will help to retain the moisture in between waterings. When you mulch, be sure to keep the mulch 2 inches from the trunk of the tree to prevent insect damage.

Fertilize established trees in late winter. Spread fertilizer evenly under the canopy of the tree.

Pruning in fall and spring is recommended because of its rapid growth. Take out dead growth and weak branches. Also remove interior spindly growth to allow more sunlight to penetrate the tree to insure a healthy tree. Winter pruning keeps the tree healthy and able to resist springs diseases and insects. If you shape the tree when it's young by having strong outward branches and removing extra smaller side shoots and suckers from the base of the tree, you will be rewarded with a nice specimen tree.

Autumn Blaze Maple is ranked one of the best performers for growth and fall color display for the Southeastern U.S. This Acer freemanii hybrid should be planted more in the urban setting since it combines the best characteristics of its parents, Red and Silver Maples.

Easy Fundraisers with No Cost

Easy Fundraisers with No Cost

When your youth group needs to raise money quickly, you need a fast free fundraiser that you can rely on to generate the necessary revenue. The amount you make on these free easy fundraisers will depend on how much time you have to prepare and how well you execute your plan.

Here are three time-tested projects to raise some fast cash:

1 - Car Wash
2 - Yard Cleanup
3 - Community Cleanup

Car Wash Fundraiser
Car washes have proven to be great fundraisers in virtually every community. All you need are willing volunteers, a high-traffic location with good visibility, and some attention getting signs. You can put your car wash fundraiser together on short notice.

Here's what you need to do:

1 - Line up a location with good main road frontage
2 - Ensure it has water access
3 - Assemble supplies list - hoses, buckets, wash towels, dry towels, squeegees
4 - Assign each volunteer an item from the supplies list
5 - Make 8-10 poster board signs in high-contrast colors
6 - Arrange your volunteers in 2-hour shifts
7 - Wash cars for six hours (Saturday preferred)
8 - Have dual lines so you can wash two at once

Your car wash fundraiser's success will of course depend on the weather. If you can wash 12 cars an hour (one every 10 minutes in each line), you can easily raise more than 0 in one day.

Remember to put together a quick flyer that includes the reason why you're raising funds and clearly states the price. You can even offer some extra services such as Armor-All tire treatment or interior vacuuming for an additional fee.

Alternatively, you can advertise a free car wash and just ask for donations for your cause. Often, this can raise more cash than stating a specific price, because people will see a group of volunteers working hard and having a good time, and may pay more than you would hav asked.

Keeping safety in mind, be sure to get volunteers to hold and wave signs toward passing traffic, not just volunteers to wash cars. If you have time, advertise your car wash event in the local newspaper, and post signs a day or two in advance.

Yard Cleanup
A yard cleanup fundraiser is extremely fast and easy to put together. Simply create a set of instructions for your group detailing what to offer, what to say, and how much to charge.

Like most fundraisers, the target market is family, friends, and neighbors. Depending on the age of your participants, your offerings can range from simple lawn care all the way up to mulching flower beds or pruning tree limbs. In many climates, autumn is a great time to do this fundraiser, because leaf clearing is always a needed service during those months.

Create a flyer describing your fundraiser and clearly list your prices for the various cleanup options. Assign a fundraising quota to each participant.

Offer some individual and group performance bonuses. There's nothing like a team pizza party or movie passes to motivate a youth sports group.

Community Cleanup
A community cleanup, also known as a trash bag fundraiser, performs a valuable community service while also providing a significant revenue opportunity. Organizing a community cleanup project is a way to raise funds and send a positive message about your group at the same time.

This type of one day or weekend fundraising event is very similar to the Athlet-A-Thon or Fun-A-Thon concept. Here your group's participants solicit pledges from the usual suspects - family, friends, and neighbors. Have local businesses donate trash bags and recruit parents and relatives with trucks to haul what you collect.

Pledges are tied to a specific attainment goal such as the number of pounds of trash collected or the number of road miles cleaned of debris. You'll need to create a one-page overview of your cleanup program and a pledge signup sheet.

It works best if your overview specifies a suggested range for donations, say anywhere from a penny to a dime a pound for a large project. An amazing amount of garbage can be collected from a local stream or illegal dumping area, so it's not a bad idea to also put a maximum limit on pledge amounts of .

Have local businesses donate trash bags. Recruit parents and relatives with trucks to haul what you collect.

Do the math. You'll be surprised at how much money you can generate. Assuming 50 participants, each of whom has five pledges of a penny a pound, if you collect a ton of garbage, your group will raise 0 per participant or ,000.

That's not bad money for a free fundraiser! You'd be surprised at how easy it is to collect a ton of garbage.

Each of these fundraisers is fast, easy to put together, and a reliable revenue generator for your group. As with any youth group event, an adult should be in attendance at all times for safety purposes. Get started on your free easy fundraisers today!

How To Prepare To Sell Your Property Privately

How To Prepare To Sell Your Property Privately

Selling your own property can be easier than you think and it all comes down to the preparation.  This not only means having the property clean and tidy, but also knowing the area well enough to list off local schools, hospitals and public transport options.

Other areas you can prepare for when selling your own home are any renovations or improvements that will increase the value of the home, scheduling open for inspection times and where you will advertise the property to gain buyer interest.

An Independent Valuator Will Offer Guidance

In the early stages of selling your own home, you will need to consult with an independent valuator.  They will be able to give you a ball park figure of what the home can potentially sell for in its current condition.

They will also give you a rundown of the areas that could be improved to assist with the speed of sale and also getting more money for the property.

Preparations For The Outside Of Your Home

The first thing that potential buyers see when they pull up to your home is the exterior.  If you have weeds growing, branches lying across the lawn and chipped facia boards, right off the bat, the potential buyers will start seeing everything that they will have to do to get this house in good condition.

Therefore, you want to avoid this initial reaction and you can do so by following these tips to prepare the exterior of your home for sale:

Raking the leaves, mowing the lawn and pulling out weeds.
Consider planting flowers and pruning trees and shrubs
Have the gutters cleaned and the house painted if needed.
Take your children's toys inside or at least have them set up in a presentable manner that makes your garden look family friendly.
Wash your windows, screen doors, deck, patio, and exterior of the home.
Replace the front door mat.

Preparing The Interior Of Your Home

Once the potential buyers have made it up the front path, you need to show them the interior of your home in the best possible light.  Small changes will really make the difference between walking into a shabby living room and watching their eyes light up in excitement.  Here are some tips to prepare the inside of your home before selling:

Paint the interior walls of your home in a neutral colour.
Repair any squeaky doors, cabinets, drawers, leaking taps, etc.
Have your carpets cleaned and your floors polished.
Clean and dust the window sills, blinds and curtains in your home.
Make sure that there is no dust on light fixtures
Keep the bathroom mildew and water stain free.
Make sure that there is no cluttering in any of the rooms.
Organize the garage and shed.
Remove personal items from view
Make sure you don't stuff everything into one cupboard, as potential buyers like to open just about every door and drawer in the house

These tress grow with time, and although with most trees or bushes pruning is a necessity with these trees pruning will destroy their beauty. The most beautiful of the willow trees is the flowering weeping willow.

There are several varieties available of the flowering weeping trees. One of the most common flowering trees is the beautiful red jade willow tree. It produces red berries on it and may grow up to 15 feet tall. In the summer however, it grows gorgeous white flowers. Experts say it should have a lot of sun light. Another willow tree is the higan cherry, which may even be rooted from cuttings. It can grow up to 25 feet with enough sun light and produces little light pink flowers. This tree may grow 10 feet tall and sometimes can reach 12 feet across over a few years time! This tree produces very small flowers that sometimes may go unnoticed by people.

Choosing The Best Tree Removal Service Providers

Choosing The Best Tree Removal Service Providers

Tree removal service is basically in charge of services like limbing, tree removal, and tree pruning. As a company providing such service, it is a big responsibility and should be done professionally.

Tree removal service is necessary every now and then especially if you have trees that threaten to damage your house or property. It is also crucial when trees are blocking a driveway or sidewalk. Similarly, tree limbing is needed when there are too many branches hindering sunlight to pass into your house or garden. There a lot of do-it-yourself methods of tree removal and tree limbing. However, this job is not easy and requires immense expertise to do it safely.

Tree removal tools and equipments can be dangerous if mishandled. In this case, there is a need to hire arborists or avail of tree removal service. An arborist has the necessary skills and know-how to do this specific job. Before deciding to seek for a tree removal service, it is vital to identify what are your specific needs. Here are some of these needs:

Grunt Work - This work involves brush chipping and stump grinding of trees. Stump grinding is typically messy because wood chips will be scattered all around your house after the task.

Dangerous Work - This operation includes taking away of partially broken limbs which are likely to fall in your estate or may cause injury to others. This procedure is called limbing. This delicate chore requires a reputable, expert tree removal company that offers insurance to its customers.

Tree Pruning Work - It is a process of cutting damaged branches or other parts of the trees. This entails cutting only the damaged portion of the tree rather than hacking the whole tree. This method helps develop the tree to become strong and it also prevents it from endangering your possessions. It is important to hire certified arborist for this particular purpose.

Now that you have identified your specific needs, the next step is to find the best arborist or tree removal company. This is critical since you want to have the best outcome and want to save your possessions from any harm. Such work needs a professional tree removal service holding a high level of responsibility. Indeed, there are a lot of handymen roaming around your neighborhood with pickup trucks equipped with chainsaw but may not qualify with the demand of the job. There are also similar services asking for a down payment before any work is started but may not even provide any cost estimate.

As a consumer, you ought to first ask for estimate and detailed work plan. You must also demand for a written contract before even deciding to hire them for the specified assignment. If you value the tree that needs limbing, you must insist that the workman should not use any spike shoes since this will damage the tree. A good tree removal service would normally use ropes or aerial lift in order to accomplish the task.

If a risky work is required, it is crucial that you should verify if the tree removal company has insurance certificates. Then check the coverage of its liability. This will ensure you that you will not be liable in case there are accidents or serious harm takes place to property or anyone whilst the work is being done. In most cases, reputable tree removal companies know well how to handle difficult tasks. Such tasks are when the trees that need limbing are directly over electrical wires, telephone wires or other utilities.

Another thing to consider is that the tree removal service that you opt for should have a proof of certification from the Tree Care Industry Association before you agree to have them accomplish the work. Furthermore, it is a must that you confirm if the company will do the job in accordance to ANSI A300 standards. This will ensure that these guys won't execute anything that would cause permanent damage or death of the tree especially when doing limbing.

Lastly, you can ask your friends or neighbors who have already experienced hiring a tree removal service. Know from them if they were satisfied with the company they chose. You can even request the tree removal company for references of their past accomplishments. Remember, you own the property and you don't want anything untoward to happen. So be diligent in selecting the right tree removal company which will supply you the vital service without having any trouble.

Is Curb Appeal Important when selling your Home?

The goal is to help them want and get them excited about coming inside, after all if potential buyers that are serious about buying your home, the last thing you want happening is a low ball offer because of poor curb appeal.

It‘s tough to look at the way we see our own home as the way potential buyers do. We choose not to see any of the defects because of our emotional connection to the home. Try to look at your home as a property as opposed to your home; and a property could be defined as a commodity that you want to sell for the highest dollar amount.

The next time you walk up your driveway stop and walk back, now take a good hard look at the house. What do you see? Is the yard tidy and well kept? Do any of the exterior finishes need paint? What exterior features do you like the most? If you run this simple exercise you will start to notice faults that you may have missed over the years. In order to make your home more sellable, you need to start by being able to envision potential buyer's first impressions of the property. In doing so it will enhance the odds of selling your commodity quicker and for more money!

Cut back shrubs and prune trees that may be taking away from the home's characteristics...for e.g...Columns and windows are the biggest feature of a home's exterior, don't hide it.

Paint all exterior doors and trim including the garage; if the home has a deck then a fresh coat of stain may be in order.

Remove any mildew and clean all windows.

You may want to add an Awning, if placed in the right spot it will give your home a complete new look.

Power wash the siding, or even better replace it all together.

Add new house numbers and mailbox to the front of the house.

Make sure that all gardening lights are working.

Add flower boxes where needed
